Land-based tactical air is the First Team. Yet we don't have enough of it - largely because diplomatic failures cost us the use of air bases in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The article is actually not bad (considering the source). I guess he just couldn't stand being the only Doddering Ex-General Talking Head Turned War Critic yet to be heard from. Was he wearing his blues with the rank on the sleeve when he wrote this? What would the Air Force have done without him? (Don't answer that...)
